About Me:
Howdy! My name is Brittney Avant and I am a Texas A&M graduate where I majored in Agricultural Science and Animal Science and minored in Business. My experience led me to pursue a degree in animal science, but my long-time passion for education couldn't be ignored, so rather than choosing one or the other, I decided to expand my education further and pursue a degree in both areas.
While at Texas A&M I was a member of a few different organizations. I was a member of Saddle & Sirloin, which is Texas A&M's chapter of Block and Bridle, Aggie Cattle Women, and the Alpha Pi chapter of Sigma Alpha, a professional agricultural sorority. In 2016 I served as the Alpha Pi chapter's Fundraising Chair and I served as the 2017 Second Vice President where I oversaw and directed new membership initiation and education.
I attended Allen High School located in Allen, Texas, a suburb north of Dallas in Collin County. While in school, I exhibited swine, cattle, and rabbit projects and competed in many different categories including: Jr. Chapter Conducting, Jr. Quiz team, Agricultural Issues Forum, Sr. Quiz, Livestock Judging, and Sr. Prepared Public Speaking.
I currently live in Aubrey, Texas with my husband and our dog, Houston, and cat, Mr. Tabby.
